A municipal worker in Nurallao, southern Sardinia, was rescued from anaphylactic shock this morning following a wasp swarm attack, thanks to the swift intervention of the 118 emergency medical team. The worker and a colleague were performing tasks for the local council when they accidentally disturbed a wasp nest concealed by vegetation. Stung multiple times, one worker suffered a severe allergic reaction. Emergency medics promptly arrived on scene and administered life-saving treatment to halt the crisis. The patient was subsequently airlifted to Cagliari’s Brotzu Hospital and is now reported out of danger. The second worker, also stung, is doing well.
