Six people, including a six-year-old child, were killed and 52 others injured—30 hospitalized, among them children—during an overnight Russian drone assault on Kyiv. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported the casualties, according to Ukraine’s Unian news agency. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack on social media, stating: “Kyiv. Missile strike. Directly on a residential building. People trapped under rubble. All emergency services are on site. Russian terrorists.”
Klitschko detailed the devastation on Telegram: “A horrific scene in Svyatoshinsky district, where an entire section of a residential building collapsed. Rescuers are searching for survivors in the debris. Six deaths are confirmed so far, but the toll may unfortunately rise.”
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha urged the United States to intensify pressure on Moscow, posting on X: “President [Donald] Trump was exceedingly generous and patient with [Vladimir] Putin, seeking a resolution. Putin disregards all efforts to halt killings—he only aims to destroy and murder. It is time he feels the pain of his choices. Maximum pressure on Moscow is imperative.”
Separately, Russia’s military announced the capture of Chasiv Yar in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region.
