Russia’s Defence Ministry announced a missile strike on a Ukrainian military training facility killed or wounded approximately 200 soldiers. In a Telegram statement, the ministry detailed that Russian forces targeted the 169th Training Center of Ukraine’s Strategic Reserve Ground Forces near Goncharovskoye, Chernihiv region, using Iskander missiles equipped with cluster warheads. “Consecutive strikes were carried out,” the ministry stated, adding that “according to intelligence data, the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces amount to about 200 servicemen, dead and wounded.”
This follows another night of extensive Russian attacks across Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force Command reported to UNIAN that drones and missiles targeted multiple regions, including Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, and Kirovohrad. Air raid alerts were activated nationwide, urging residents to seek shelter.
Ukrainian military officials stated that Russian forces launched 78 attack drones overnight, including Shahed kamikaze types. Ukrainian air defenses reportedly shot down or electronically neutralized 51 of the drones. Debris from destroyed unmanned aerial vehicles fell in two separate locations.
