European stock markets regained momentum following concerns over the tariff agreement. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) today raised its global GDP forecasts despite lingering uncertainty, while Wall Street opened with cautious gains.
The euro-dollar exchange rate remained weak, with the single currency trading at $1.1525.
Milan led gains (+1.5%), followed by Frankfurt and Paris (both +1.3%). On the Milan bourse, Iveco surged 6.5% after confirming “advanced discussions regarding potential defense sector operations.” Buyers also drove up shares of Leonardo (+3.1%) and Germany’s Rheinmetall (+3%).
Banking stocks continued their positive trend, with Bper (+3.54%) leading after its successful offer for Popolare di Sondrio (+2.18%).
