Gunfire erupted overnight in Acilia, Rome, targeting a residential building on Giuseppe Beduschi Street. A 19-year-old Egyptian woman, standing on her apartment balcony, was struck in the knee by a bullet.
Carabinieri from the Acilia station and the Ostia company responded to the scene. Initial investigations indicate the shots were apparently fired from a passing vehicle. The victim, who arrived in Italy in June to spend her vacation with her father – a long-term resident worker – was rushed to hospital by emergency services. Her injuries are not life-threatening. An investigation into the incident is underway.
