The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) will convene its 25th Global Summit in Rome from September 28th to 30th. The event, hosted at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, marks the summit’s return to Europe after six years.
Organized in collaboration with Italy’s Ministry of Tourism, the Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT), the Municipality of Rome, and the Lazio Region, the summit is anticipated to draw the world’s leading tourism figures. Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè stated the event “will bring the world’s top players to the eternal city, meaning investments and a major promotional showcase.”
Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri described the summit as part of “a season of strong growth and positive transformation” for the sector. Francesco Rocca, President of the Lazio Region, highlighted the opportunity to further improve, particularly in “tourism logistics.”
ENIT President Alessandra Priante emphasized the significance of Rome as the host city, calling it a place that “represents the essence of being Italian and is a great capital of innovation.”
Greg O’Hara, WTTC Chair, commented: “We intend to promote more resilient tourism, seize the digital transformation opportunity, and foster regenerative tourism. Rome will be a source of inspiration.” Manfredi Lefebvre, WTTC Chairman Elect, lauded Rome as “more than a city but a symbol of civilization, resilience, and the capacity to reinvent itself – a living museum.”
